It is no longer news that popular charismatic man of God and founder of Household of God Church, Pastor Chris Okotie is now a single man after he sent his wife, Stephanie packing a few months ago, for reasons he described as “Ireconcilable differences.”
It didn’t take too long after that, when Pastor Chris began a verbal attack on the lady he once called wife, even describing her as “Queen Jezebel” and much more. He seized the exotic cars he bought her while they were married and other benefits as well. Well we may not have to wait till then or probably we should expects sneak previews from his “2012 Confessions” as one of his Snr. Ministers in his church according to an interview granted to City People Magazine, has been asked to clear the air on the divorce stories and a recent joke by popular comedianGordons.
The said minister in the person of Rev. Mrs. Grace Funmi Paul, said in the interview that Pastor Chris Okotie was a man truly called by God and as such will not do anything, unless it was sanctioned by God. She was quoted as saying;
“In the two cases of my Pastor’s former wives , it was an abdication of roles, one was a physical abdication and the other was a spiritual abdication. But in Stephanie’s case, I believe it was spiritual abdication, but either ways it amounts to the same thing, because the scripture states clearly that; if the unbelieveuing departs, let him depart you are not bound.”
With regards to Gordons’ joke about Pastor Chris Okotie being a randy man, saying he changed his wives very often, the Rev. had this to say;
“He claims he is a Christian and if he is indeed a Christian, he will understand that the scripture says clearly that you don’t despise dignitaries. If Gordons is a true Christian he will know who my Pastor is and will not stand on a national pedestal and talk about a servant of God as a frivolous man, always changing wives, that is so disrespectful. Not only is my Pastor a dignitary of God, he is also older than Gordons and in Nigeria we respect our elders.”
She went on to describe Pastor Chris as a very compassionate man who loved Jesus and takes order from him. She also said Pastor Chris Okotie was particularlly careful about women, she added;
“Especially the beautiful women, because he knows the devil desires them . So when a beautiful woman has issues in the church, he ministers to them and because he does that, people jump to the conclusion the he sleeps with them, which is not true.”
She finally concluded that Pastor Chris Okotie is not divorced but seperated from Stephanie!
This interview only raises more questions, especially the“Separation and Divorce” issue, if Pastor Chris didn’t divorce Stephanie as Rev. Grace Funmi claims, doesn’t this mean that Stephanie Henshaw is still legally married to Chris Okotie?
